The First Revelation
At age 40, in the Cave of Hira during Ramadan, the Angel Jibril (AS) appeared to the Prophet (PBUH) with the first revelation: Read in the name of your Lord who created. (Surah Al-Alaq 96:1) The Prophet (PBUH) trembled and ran to Khadija (RA), who comforted him and took him to Waraqa ibn Naufal, who confirmed his prophethood.
